WIS Teachers at the AISA Conference in Kigali

Two of our teachers are currently attending the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA) conference in Kigali, Rwanda. AISA is one of the most respected professional associations for educators on the continent, known for its commitment to advancing teaching and learning across international schools in Africa. It brings together visionary educators, thought leaders, and experts from around the world to share best practices, inspire innovation, and strengthen the professional networks that support our schools.

Attending an AISA conference is an extraordinary opportunity for professional growth. Not only do educators gain new strategies, research-based practices, and deeper insights into their own teaching, but they also meet like-minded professionals who share a passion for education. These connections encourage us to keep challenging ourselves, to rethink approaches, and to envision what is possible in our own classrooms and school communities.

At WIS, we place great value on professional development, recognising that it has a direct impact on student learning. When our teachers grow, so do our students. Conferences such as AISA provide our educators with knowledge and skills that they will bring back to enrich the wider teaching community at WIS. Through sharing sessions, discussions, and collaboration with colleagues, the ideas and practices gained in Kigali will ripple through our school, benefitting not just our teachers but every child in our care.

We are proud to be part of the AISA network and grateful for the opportunity to continue investing in the professional journeys of our teachers, knowing that the ultimate reward is the enhanced learning and growth of our students.
