FOOD & TUCK SHOP

There is one thing which brings people from every age and culture together without fail - FOOD!

With parents, students and staff coming to WIS from around 60 different countries and every religion and every dietary need, there are many different foods available on campus.

1. The WIS Tuck Shop (a.k.a. the "Fish Eagle's Nest") has on offer a simple array of a la carte sandwiches, wraps, brochen, salads, seasonal soup, crisps, boerewors, and fruit. There are also juices and non-sugary sodas, as well as occaisonal ice lollies. Customers bring cash or swipe.

2. International Food Days are announced by email within the community. Parents and staff spouses prepare pre-ordered food that is special to their nationality, such as: Nigerian Jollof Rice, Indian Curries, Indonesian Nasi Gorang, Chinese Noodles, Tanzanian Chicken, Ugandan Rolex Wraps, Italian Lunches, Ethiopian Food, and delicious plates prepared by our WIS Parent Network Healthy Living Committee.

3. Packed lunch is the predominant way of doing lunch at WIS. There are two breaks in the school day when students choose to eat.

4. Filtered and Chilled Water is available at different filter points across campus (the gym, the PLC foyer, and the secondary library).

The school has a sustainability and waste reduction policy which seeks to reduce waste produced on campus.

The school also has a student-led food and garden composting system.

There is an after school lunch available as part of the WIS Kids Aftercare for Age 3 (Kindergarten) through Grade 8 from 1:45 until 5:30 Monday through Friday. Please contact Mrs. Sonandre Fick at sfick@wis.edu.na for more information about Aftercare.
