Meet Luzaine Hoff, our new Pre-Primary 1 Teacher

ree

Welcome to WIS! What would you like us to know about you?

I have been teaching for 17 years. I am a wife and a mother of three.

Could you tell us a little about your philosophy of education?

I believe that everyone has the ability to learn. And we should take time for each child and meet them where they are. Education is about shaping individuals not only to gain knowledge but also to develop critical thinking, creativity, and moral values.

People often like to know their teacher’s academic background and professional experiences. What and where have you studied? Where have you worked?

I studied in Stellenbosch South Africa at Bolland College.  I am a qualified Early Childhood educator. My teaching career started at Deutsche Höhere Privatschule. Then we moved to Swakopmund where I started working at Namib Primary School. We later moved back to Windhoek where I started working at Delta School Windhoek teaching grade 1 up and till now.

What do you do when you aren't teaching?

My son and daughter are soccer and tennis players so I spend a lot of time out with their activities. Family time is important to me so we as a family often camp and love our weekend barbecues.

Why did you choose WIS?

I chose WIS because it is a caring and diverse community where children are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow in their own unique ways. I love the school’s values and the way it celebrates curiosity and creativity.

Is there anything else you’d like us to know about you?

I have a big passion for early childhood education, and I enjoy creating fun, hands-on learning experiences. Outside of school, I love the outdoors and spending time with my family.
