Grade 5 PYP Exhibition: Get involved!

Writer's picture: WIS SocialsWIS Socials

Our Grade 5 students are busy preparing for their PYP Exhibition, a significant culminating experience of the Primary Years Programme.

This year, our students have aligned their research projects with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, connecting their inquiries to real-world challenges that impact our global community. This approach enables them to see how their learning can contribute to meaningful change in the world around them.

Mentor Meetings Begin Next Week

An exciting development in the Exhibition process will take place next week as students participate in their first mentor meetings. Mentors play a crucial role in guiding students through their Exhibition journey by:

  • Providing guidance and support throughout the research process

  • Helping students refine their questions and inquiry focus

  • Connecting students with resources and expertise

  • Offering feedback on student progress and ideas

  • Supporting students in preparing their final presentations

One particularly valuable aspect of the mentor relationship is assistance with setting up interviews with subject matter experts, which represents an important research methodology for our young inquirers.

Calling All Community Experts!

This is where our school community can make a meaningful difference! We're seeking individuals with expertise in various fields who would be willing to be interviewed by our Grade 5 students. These conversations provide invaluable insights and authentic learning experiences for our students.

If you have knowledge or experience that could support our students' research, please let us know what you might offer. You can view the list of students, their chosen topics, and assigned mentors here

Your participation would be greatly appreciated and would significantly enhance the Exhibition experience for our Grade 5 students!
