The final IBDP examinations are over, the last papers were written on May 20, and the WIS Class of 2026 has officially crossed the finish line. This year, 33 students earned the Windhoek International School High School Diploma, bringing to a close a memorable chapter filled with challenges, achievements, and lasting memories.
The students, their families, and teachers came together to celebrate this milestone at a beautiful graduation ceremony held at Out of Nature, just outside Windhoek on 23 May. The highlight of the ceremony were the heartfelt speeches delivered by three of the class representatives, encouraging those present to reflect on the true meaning of a WIS education. Through themes of time, belonging, and change, the student speakers reflected on the relationships and experiences that make the WIS journey so meaningful.
Melissa Liedke spoke about the value of time. Drawing on the shared experiences of the Diploma Programme, her message was a simple but powerful one: take time to appreciate the people around you, because the moments we share today soon become tomorrow’s memories. Continuing the theme of meaningful relationships, Naeem Robiati’s speech focussed on the power of community and the importance of feeling connected. His message celebrated friendships that highlighted the inclusive culture that defines WIS. Finally, Kazuki Sadamoto explored the theme of change, reminding graduates that while goodbyes can be difficult, new opportunities and growth often come with new beginnings. He reminded his classmates that every ending creates space for new possibilities.
In addition to celebrating the graduation of the Class of 2026, the ceremony provided an opportunity to recognise students whose efforts, achievements, and contributions have enriched the WIS community:

Scholar-Athlete Award: Panduleni Kapolo
The WIS Student Service Leader Award: Tapiwanashe Murwira
