Our Primary Choirs Perform at the China–Namibia Culture Fair
On Tuesday the 8th of September, our school was invited to take part in the China–Namibia Culture Fair at the Chinese Embassy in Windhoek. Two of our choirs, the Primary Choir and the Primary Staff Choir, had the honour of performing at this special celebration of friendship between China and Namibia.
In total, the choirs performed six songs, which took the audience on a musical journey, from well-loved international classics to traditional Namibian songs that were new to many listeners. Despite having had little time to prepare for this event, our singers performed confidently, and the audience was really appreciative.
Much of the credit for our choirs' success goes to our music teacher, Ms Michelle. Thanks to her hard work and careful preparation, both groups performed with conviction and joy. Thank you, Ms Michelle!
Our choirs were not the only performers on the night. The fair featured a wonderful variety of Chinese and Namibian artists: musicians, dancers, drummers and percussion groups, as well as impressive martial arts displays. The whole programme showed how much both cultures have to share and celebrate.
Events like this matter because they strengthen the friendly and mutually beneficial relationship between our school and the Chinese Embassy. Through music, art and shared experiences, we learn from one another and build lasting connections.
We are proud of everyone who took part, and we look forward to many more opportunities for cultural exchange in the future.
