NEASC Preparatory Visit Completed!

Writer: WIS SocialsWIS Socials

Dear All,

The NEASC Preparatory Visit took place this week, and my thanks to everyone who contributed to making the visit a success and to Ms Margarete Reiff for serving as the authorisation coordinator. The school will now enter into what NEASC calls the Internal Reflection Phase of the authorsation cycle, and the full reauthorisation visit will likely take place in eighteen months from now. NEASC accreditation utilises compliance-oriented “Foundation Standards” and aspirational “Learning Principles”.

The NEASC team was complimentary of our school’s culture and strategic plan. Informally, the visiting team found that all foundation standards were either “evident” or “developing”, with no standard “not evident”. The team will also have a number of recommendations, and this preparatory visit will give us a very helpful framework for our school’s continuous improvement which is set to take place over the next 18 months.

There are so many hugely positive things happening for our learners at WIS. With Empathy Week, the first-ever MYP Personal Project, our successful Global Alliance exchanges, students leaving today on the fully-funded Globus Fund exchange to Denmark, and students leaving today for the Okavango Delta, the strategic plan slogan “From WIS to the World!” has perhaps ever been more true!

A video of the NEASC ACE Principles is below:

Sincerely,

Ethan
