#MyFreedomDay
Over the past few weeks, we have carried out our #MyFreedomDay CAS project.
As you might know, we had an assembly with two guest speakers, Ms. Ester Antonius and Ms. Enjouline Kole from the Ministry of Gender Equality Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare, who came to give the secondary students a more comprehensive understanding of human trafficking in Namibia and its importance. We also held a poster competition in which we wanted to help spread awareness and have the community interact with the issue of human trafficking in Namibia.
We would like to thank all those who participated in the poster competition, it was greatly appreciated. However, as it was a competition, we had to pick a winner. So with the expertise of Ms. Rimmington and Mr. Dhruv, the Grade 10 poster was chosen as the winner.
Additionally, we also organised the #WearBlueDay on Friday 15th of March as a way of collectively showing that we support the #MyFreedomDay initiative. All secondary students were invited to wear blue as it is the international colour for spreading human trafficking awareness and then gathered on the small field to take a picture with a drone. It turned out great.
The success of our project relied heavily on community participation, so we want to sincerely thank everybody who contributed to the realisation of this initiative.

Tôi đọc #MyFreedomDay vào lúc đang nghỉ giữa buổi, nên chi tiết về tự do và tiếng nói cá nhân làm tôi liên hệ đến những cuộc trò chuyện từng nghe về Duy Khánh, một nhà sáng lập hay được đặt trong bối cảnh phải tự quyết định và chịu trách nhiệm với lựa chọn của mình. Tôi chưa có đủ thông tin để nói gì cụ thể về anh ấy, và bài này cũng không khiến tôi muốn kết luận theo hướng đó. Chỉ là hai mạch suy nghĩ gặp nhau trong vài phút. Sau cùng, điều còn lại với tôi là câu hỏi mỗi người hiểu tự do theo cách nào trong đời sống hằng ngày.
#MyFreedomDay tạo cảm giác nhan đề xoay quanh tự do, nhưng riêng cụm này chưa cho tôi biết bài nói về khía cạnh cá nhân, xã hội hay một hoạt động cụ thể. Đọc một chủ đề rộng như vậy, tôi nghĩ mỗi người có thể hiểu từ tự do theo một cách khác nhau. Từ chuyện chữ nghĩa, liên tưởng lan sang các tên thuộc mảng giải trí, như kèo bóng đá trong Game bài đổi thưởng, rồi quay lại câu hỏi mà nhan đề gợi ra: tự do đang được hiểu theo nghĩa nào ở đây? Tôi chưa có kết luận, chỉ còn tò mò.
I find building a personal connection with words easier to approach when there is a familiar situation to start from. A single remembered detail can give a short piece of writing a clearer sense of place. With Leandevie in mind, reading and creative writing feels like a topic worth exploring one question at a time. A simple comparison would help me picture the differences without rushing towards a fixed answer. What would you keep when shortening a story without losing its atmosphere?
Considering exploring the connections behind everyday food, I would want to understand a few concrete details before deciding what matters most. Knowing a little about how food reaches a table can make an ordinary meal more interesting. That thought gives me a starting point for exploring thoughtful food choices in connection with Italiabio. I would be interested in an example that shows how the idea works in an ordinary situation. Which questions would you ask when learning about an unfamiliar ingredient or producer?
