A group of our senior students in Grades 10 & 12 have taken on this challenge which will be an outstanding opportunity for them to hone their skills in collaboration, critical thinking, creative thought and communication. Having the opportunity as students to engage in real world challenges like this, gives our students a chance to get involved and make a difference in areas that are of interest to them.
Below is what the challenge is about:
Our students get the chance to create a new product idea for a leading global luxury goods company where Hult’s Future Leaders Challenge partners with Dolce & Gabbana on an 11-week live client experience.
This gives an excellent opportunity to students who are curious about studying business, want to gain live-client experience with a global luxury goods company, Dolce & Gabbana, or who simply want to sharpen their professional skills. Working together in a team, doing research and working out a client brief, gives our students a pathway to explore and work on soft skills that are so critically important for young people to be able to face the challenges and opportunities they are exposed to when they move into the world of work.
The following skills are what our students will focus on:
Business fundamentals: They will be able to broaden business knowledge through weekly live, online Masterclasses and workshops that have a marketing and entrepreneurial focus.
Presentation skills put theory into practice: They will learn how to tell compelling stories that communicate ideas and inspire others and if they move to the next round will be able to present their proposals online, live to a panel of judges.
Client consulting: They will pitch ideas and gain experience working with Dolce & Gabbana and might be able to attend exclusive industry insight webinars and finally present their ideas to senior executives from D&G.
Teamwork & collaboration: And with that all, they will learn how to leverage individual strengths and apply those as a team toward a collective goal—an essential skill for any career.
We wish our team of students all the best and success in this experience and hope that this is a valuable experience for them to learn and acquire and strengthen skills that they will be able to use for the rest of their lives.
