Dear Parents,
Thank you for your positivity, creativity, and hard work putting together this year's International Day. This event would not be possible without you!
So many parents have done lots of work to make this day so special. Just some among them would be from the WPN International Day Team: Cami, Pranjala, Adam, Al-Dylan, Kristi, Sapna, Shandre, Taati, Theone, Arpita, Brian, Janna, Misayo, Jummy, , Athur, Sonya - and of course all of the WPN Grade Level Reps and WIS staff who have gone above and beyond to make the day special. When I look across the different grade levels, I am amazed by our parents’ many talents and by what happens when people from all around the world unite in a common cause.
Here are just a few of the events which have happened over the past few months, which would not have been possible without parental involvement:
Monthly Morning Coffees
World Class University Fairs
PYP Exhibitions
3-Way Conferences
International Day
Digital Wellness
Health and Wellness Day
Neurodiversity Week
DP Coffee Mornings
Student Council’s Leadership
MYP Personal Project
Art Exhibits & Evening Potlucks
DP CAS
Grade 5 Leadership
Sports Teams’ Promotion and Development
Athletics and Sports Days
Unit of Inquiry Learning Celebrations
WPN Management Committee
WPN Teams
WPN Grade Level Reps
Sports Development Committee
The Board of Directors and Board-Level Committees
Schools become more than just schools when the admin, EAs, teachers ('staffulty?') and parents join in partnership for student learning and school culture. Our student council is increasingly active and are we see their leadership and service as an expression of our school’s mission, “To develop the full potential of each student in a stimulating environment of academic excellence, cultural diversity, and active social responsibility to become internationally minded independent thinkers.”
Events such as International Day foster internationalism and international mindedness - and equally importantly, they build trust, solidarity, and a sense of community.
With appreciation for our parents and in the spirit of international mindedness,
Ethan
