A good start to the new academic year Welcome to all our new families

ree

A new year always brings new opportunities and new excitement - students move up a grade and possibly into a new section in the school:

Welcome to the Middle School Grade 6s

Welcome to the High School Grade 9s

Welcome to the IBDP Grade 11s

Welcome back. Grade 7s and 8s

Welcome to the last year of MYP, Grade 10s

And a HUGE welcome to our Class of 2026

Welcome to all our new families – we trust that you will be enjoying your time here at WIS and that the time here will be a special time in your (students’) lives. Starting at a new school always has elements of excitement as well as anxiety. We hope that you have been made to feel welcome and that you have already been able to settle in.

The coming week promises some exciting opportunities for parents to meet with their children(s’) homeroom teachers as well as wellbeing teachers and to find out a little more about our PSHE and Well-being Programme as well as things that we do here at WIS that might be slightly different. And it is an opportunity to connect with other parents from your child’s class. We hope to see all our parents and their child(ren) at these meetings.

As you will know, WIS values the partnership between students, parents and the school. We appreciate it if parents familiarise themselves with our programmes and the way they can support their child through the academic year. There are many  nuances to the academic and social-emotional journeys of young people. Together, we will be able to manoeuvre these opportunities and challenges to ensure that our children can be the best they can be in all aspects of their education.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, we are fortunate to host an outstanding event for our students – Grades 6 - 12. We will be visited by two mentors – Taryn and Nico – who are graduates from esteemed universities. They will conduct a workshop with our students following the Harvard Model Congress Young Global Leaders programme at our school. We are exited to have over 30 of our students enrolled in this workshop and look forward to their feedback afterwards.
