Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope this school year finds you well. As we embark on another exciting academic year, I want to share some of the positive developments and initiatives happening at our school.
Our students have truly embraced our school theme of the Four P’s:
Positivity,
Principles, (Purpose, People,Ownership, Creativity, Excellence and Sustainability)
Presence,
Perseverance
Students have shown remarkable growth in embodying these qualities in their daily lives. We believe that fostering these values is essential for our students’ personal and academic success. It's inspiring to witness their commitment to making a positive impact on our school community.
In line with our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment, we are reinforcing our anti-bullying stance. We have four straightforward rules about bullying:
We will not bully others,
We will try to help students who are bullied,
We will try to include students who are left out.
We know that somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school and an adult at home.
Our teachers and support staff are also equipped with the "See It, Stop It, Separate It, Record It" approach to address bullying incidents effectively.
On Monday, we will be hosting a virtual visit from the MYP Accreditation team. This is a significant milestone for our school as we strive for excellence in education. Our students will have the opportunity to showcase their understanding of MYP concepts such as global contexts, relevance, meaning-making, and statement of inquiry. Students will also demonstrate their ability to apply the criteria for summative assessment to their work. We are confident that our students will shine during this important evaluation.
Time is a precious resource, and we encourage our students to make the most of it. We believe that effective time management is crucial for academic success and personal growth. We will continue to provide our students with strategies and tools to help them prioritize tasks and manage their time effectively.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to another successful year together.
Sincerely,
Derrek Berkompas
6th Grade English/Middle School Principal
