In a creative writing project, the Grade 8 students were tasked with writing their own endings to the short story "Amigo Brothers" by Piri Thomas. The story revolves around two best friends, Felix and Antonio, who share a passion for boxing. In the ring, they are fierce competitors, but outside of it, they are like brothers. As the story ends on a cliffhanger, the students have been given the opportunity to use their imagination and writing skills to craft their own unique endings to this beloved tale. It's an exciting challenge that will allow the students to explore their creativity while also honing their writing skills.

“Who might have won?” Was the question that was going on through everyone's head.
It was pretty much even all this time, but there was a one-point difference. This winner could be a person that fought fast and tall, or a person that fought strong and hard.
They had both fought fair and square and with todo su corazon*, but there could only be one winner. Antonio and Felix looked into each other’s eyes with greed. They both knew that this competition would determine their future.
BONG! BONG! BONG! “Ladies and Gentlemen, señores y señoras, the winner and representative of The Golden Gloves Tournament is, only by one point, drum roll please … Antonio!!!”
The amigo brothers both jumped up with joy, one because he won and one because he was happy for his friend.

The way here was hard and new as they had never had an official fight. They knew there could only be one winner. They knew there would be no draws. Punches were fired as pistol bullets and finally, Felix hit a rocketing blow that knocked Antonio out. BAM BAM BAM! The final round was over and it seemed to have a clear winner with Felix with a sound relief he had finally won the bout.
It was a difficult path and Felix was happy to see this pass into the past full of memories. Just as the ref lifted his hand, the joy in their faces was clear. Not only Felix won but also Antonio; it was great to see his best friend win the Golden Glove Tournament. The amigo brothers walked out of the ring side by side, friends as always, just as nothing had and would ever get between them and their friendship. Although only Felix would be given the opportunity to get him out of the South side, Antonio was happy about it.
