Introducing Sarah Spencer, volunteering nurse for the WIS Health Clinic.
We are delighted to share that we have a volunteer nurse practitioner who will be working within the WIS Health Clinic, starting next week on Mondays and Fridays. Sarah Spencer has practiced pediatric medicine in the US for over 25 years. Sarah’s professional experience includes work in urgent care settings, where she treated injuries and illnesses that require rapid response. She also practiced primary care where she enjoyed preventative and holistic care that allowed her to build lasting relationships with her young patients and their families. Sarah has subspecialty training and decades of experience in child and adolescent mental health, which she feels is one of the most rewarding aspects of her professional work.
Sarah is married to WIS Instructional Coach Derrek Berkompas. They have six children who live in the US and Asia. Their youngest son attends WIS. Sarah is excited to pitch in at WIS and is happy to help with any student health needs that arise during the day. Sarah joins our Nurse and Counsellor Ms. Sharon Gorelick and our Health Clinic Assistant Madelein Ockhuizen.
