Happy Teacher Appreciation Day!

Dear Community,

We teach from who we are, and teaching at WIS requires all of the IB Learner Profile Attributes and then some. IB learners are….

Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-minded, Caring, Risk-takers,

Balanced, and Reflective.

The kind of teaching we do at WIS is highly technical and demanding work. Teachers must multi-task and balance the needs of very different students at the intellectual and social-emotional levels of learning. Teaching requires deep emotional intelligence, strong content knowledge, and a clear understanding of how students learn. And this is just some of what we feel makes education both the most challenging and the most rewarding profession in the world!

So today, we take a moment to appreciate our teachers. You speak into the lives of the WIS Kids who gather to learn every day on this campus. We have world class educators here at WIS, and we appreciate you!

I want to thank our WIS Parent Network volunteers for all of the ways you are supporting our teachers this school year. Your boxes and gifts are appreciated, and I know that our teachers feel supported by our WIS parent community as we work together to create a community which builds up and supports our next generation of “WIS kids”. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Ethan
