A total of 17 new Peer Counsellors in Grade 9 have just completed their training. Earlier this week they met with their assigned mentees in Grade 5 to get to know each other in preparation for the transition into Grade 6 next year. The PCs will support their charges as they start middle school and continue to do so for as long as they are needed. Over the years many close bonds have been formed between Peer Counsellor and young student, and we hope this next year will be no exception.

Though the new Peer Counsellors will focus on the new Grade 6´s in the coming year, they will also make themselves available to offer support throughout secondary school. At the final assembly of the academic year, the PCs will receive a Lifeline/Childline endorsed certificate in recognition of the training they have done throughout the year. Being a Peer Counsellor is a voluntary service provided by our students and the school is deeply grateful for the work and effort they put into this very valuable and dedicated support service.
