Metropolitan Gravity Cup tournament

This past weekend, the U15 netball team from WIS proudly represented our school at the Metropolitan Gravity Cup for the first time. The tournament featured four sports codes: Rugby, Soccer, Hockey, and Netball. Running from Thursday afternoon to Saturday afternoon, it provided an exciting platform for our team to showcase their skills.

Throughout the competition, our team played four games in their group, demonstrating impressive performance and displaying excellent team spirit and sportsmanship. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the parents for their unwavering support and to those who were able to join us on the sidelines to cheer us on. We would also like to express our gratitude to the coaches, Coach Surge, Coach Rebbeka, and Ms. Debisa, for their unwavering dedication and hard work throughout the netball season and during the tournament.

Furthermore, we would like to extend a special thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Ferreira from OK Foods Baines for their generous contribution of water and oranges, which provided much-needed refreshments for the girls. Additionally, we would like to acknowledge Mr. Harold Mouton and his family for his kind donation of two gazebos to the Netball teams, ensuring their comfort during the event.

Once again, we appreciate all the support and contributions that made this tournament an unforgettable experience for our team.

~ Deidre Smith (Netball Coordinator)
