At WIS, our Nursery and Pre-Primary programs are aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), providing a thoughtfully designed approach for children aged 3 to 5. Developed by the IB, renowned for its educational frameworks, including the Middle Years, Career-related, and Diploma Programmes which are offered at WIS, the PYP in early years settings offers stimulating, supportive interactions that cater to each child's unique development.
In our dynamic learning environments, children engage in holistic learning experiences that integrate socio-emotional, physical, and cognitive development through play, discovery, and exploration. Parents appreciate the individualised approach of the PYP, recognizing that children develop at different rates. Our Nursery program at Windhoek International School (WIS) is designed to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where children aged 3 to 4 can thrive. With a focus on safety, love, and play-based learning, we ensure that each child feels secure and valued as they embark on their educational journey.
Our flexible enrollment options allow parents to choose between 2 to 5 days per week, and our wrap-around care extends from 1:40pm until 5:30pm, providing the flexibility needed to accommodate busy schedules.

At WIS, our Pre-Primary programme focuses on fostering exploration, building a solid foundation, and nurturing a love for learning in children aged 4 to 5. Our comprehensive curriculum encompasses language, mathematics, creativity, physical development, and social-emotional skills, ensuring that every aspect of your child's development is supported and nurtured.
