Turning Waste into Wonder: How Design & Technology is Transforming Cardboard into Innovation
In our Design classrooms, learning goes far beyond textbooks and theoretical models, it comes to life through hands-on problem solving. A fundamental part of our curriculum challenges students to take on real-world environmental issues, such as finding creative, practical ways to re-purpose everyday cardboard waste into meaningful, high-use products.
As seen in the photos, our young designers are diving headfirst into the design process. Using everyday materials alongside precision tools like utility knives, hot glue guns, and measuring scales, they are learning how to take scrap material and engineer functional structure and form.
