We are thrilled to announce that Windhoek International School will be represented in space! Sophie, a Grade 5 student, has had her question selected as one of the final twelve to be sent aboard the Fram2 space mission—the first human spaceflight to fly over the North and South Pole.
This incredible opportunity was part of the Blue Marble Space Competition, organized by Ootiboo, an organisation dedicated to fostering creativity. The competition received an overwhelming 423 entries from schools across the globe, and an astronaut panel had the tough task of selecting just twelve standout questions. Sophie’s insightful question made the final cut and will be loaded onto a digital tablet to be taken into space!
Over the next twelve working days, the final twelve video questions will be shared on the Blue Marble project page. They will keep us updated as soon as they receive further details on the mission launch.
We are incredibly proud of Sophie and look forward to following the Fram2 mission as it ventures into space.
