Welcome to our new academic year – 2026-2027

It was great to have our “new” Grade 12 students organise our welcome back assembly on Monday morning. The positive energy and the many kind welcome greetings from students and teachers alike made the start of this new school year special.

As we start this academic year, we want to appreciate the opportunities that we are afforded in our school.

Our vision and mission and our Shared Understanding of High Quality Learning, together with our 6 Principles, are a strong north star to guide us to aim for excellence, to be the best we can be:

  • “The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.” — Brian Herbert

Let us choose to learn, let us choose to support each other, and let us choose kindness, compassion and the willingness to put our Shared Understanding of High Quality Learning into practice:

“When we work together and independently in a safe, caring environment, we can recognise each person’s place in the story of our shared planet. Through ongoing dialogue and actionable feedback, we develop the knowledge and skills needed to create a better future.”

To everyone returning to WIS, and to all families joining us from around the world:

Margarete Reiff

One appealing feature of basketball stars is how player outfits can contribute to a recognizable personal identity. The right combination of clothing and accessories can make a character instantly noticeable during fast-paced games.

Man, the '312' on that hoodie looks like my top score in Slope Game last night before I completely crashed and burned. I might need to pick one of these up to celebrate my epic fail!

Great to see the Grade 12s running the welcome assembly — their energy and the kind greetings from everyone made it feel like a true community kickoff. The emphasis on Shared Understanding and the 6 P's resonates with a tool I've been using https://faceless-ai.net/gallery

What a great way to start the year — the Grade 12 students clearly put real heart into that welcome assembly, and the warmth from everyone came through. On a related note, I've been using https://musevideo.site/blog
