The WIS Teacher Academy has entered its second year, continuing to bring our teaching and learning community together in the spirit of collaboration. At WIS, one of our fundamental principles as educators is the belief that collaboration is at the heart of professional growth. The Teacher Academy was created to connect, inspire, and encourage teaching professionals to learn from one another, share expertise, and grow together, and we are thrilled to see it thrive.
Now in its second year, the Teacher Academy continues to host a series of high-quality workshops, open to all teaching professionals who are eager to expand their practice and contribute to a vibrant community of learners. These workshops are free of charge but limited to 20 participants per session, ensuring a dynamic and interactive learning experience for everyone involved. Registration details and workshop information can be accessed through our social media platforms, as well as on the WIS website.
The Teacher Academy is an important part of our school’s vision to uplift education by creating cohesiveness in thought and practice. It is a space where collaboration fuels innovation, where teachers feel supported and inspired, and where shared professional learning directly enhances the experiences of our students.
We also take this opportunity to pay tribute to Marcelle Van Leenen, whose vision, commitment, and hard work laid the foundation for the WIS Teacher Academy. Her contributions remain central to its ongoing success, and her passion for professional growth continues to inspire us all.
These are exciting times at WIS. The Teacher Academy is not just a series of workshops — it is a growing movement that connects educators, deepens professional expertise, and strengthens the collective impact we have on our students’ learning.

Of ‘Never—nevermore’.”
But the Raven still beguiling all my fancy into smiling,
Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of bird, and bust and door;
Then, upon the velvet sinking, I betook myself to linking
Fancy unto fancy, thinking what this ominous bird of yore—
What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt, and ominous bird of yore
Meant in croaking “Nevermore.”
This I sat engaged in guessing, but no…
