Saying goodbye to colleagues who have become part of our WIS family

Today we say goodbye to three student teachers who have become a part of our WIS family in the past weeks. It is a goodbye that is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to Selma, Jeroen and Claire, who have grown to become part of our English and Humanities teams and leave a lot of good inspiration and ideas.

The opportunity to welcome student teachers at WIS is of mutual gain for both the school and the individual teachers. While they come here to learn how WIS is approaching education, they come with fresh ideas and current pedagogical questions as well as some answers. While they learn from our teachers, the conversations in departments and between colleagues are enriching and mutually beneficial.

Once again, our student teachers were not just student teachers. They took the responsibility for some classes and formed quite a bond with their mentor teachers as well as the students that they taught during this time. Listening to Jeroen, Claire and Selma reflect on their time here at WIS is heartwarming. Not only did they integrate into our community, they also left a little bit of themselves behind and we are grateful for that. Thank you, Claire, Selma and Jeroen.

Respectfully

Maggie Reiff
