Meet Thrive Mahua , our new Primary German Teacher

Welcome to WIS! What would you like us to know about you?

I am a lover of African Literature, an Author and a Psychology Graduate.

Could you tell us a little about your philosophy of education?

I believe in creating an environment where we can safely make mistakes, where we do not feel like we are less than simply because we do not get it right the first time. I love including the experiences and cultures of students into their learning process, I believe it allows them to connect to the foreign language they are being taught.  

People often like to know their teacher’s academic background and professional experiences. What and where have you studied? Where have you worked?

I studied German and Clinical  Psychology, I taught privately at my tutoring academy “Thrive’s Tutorials and Services” and just before I joined WIS, I was interning for the German Parliament in Berlin.

What do you do when you aren't teaching?

When I’m not teaching, I am reading or writing.

Why did you choose WIS?

From the moment I walked into WIS, I got this sense of calm that indicated I would be safe here. The staff, the learners, every one has this content spirit about them. I already love it here.

Is there anything else you’d like us to know about you? 

Do not ever hesitate to tell me about the book you’re reading, that is my absolute favourite thing to connect about. 😀
