Welcome to WIS! What would you like us to know about you?
I am passionate about teaching and can’t wait for this new adventure.
I was born and grew up in Zimbabwe and have wanted to be a teacher since primary school.
Could you tell us a little about your philosophy of education?
My philosophy is three words - impact, inspire and passion!
I want to impact children on their educational journey where I can create a safe inclusive environment where the children can be themselves and always give of their best. I want to inspire the children of today to follow their dreams, find what motivates them which encourages their curiosity. Lastly, my passion is teaching and helping children to grow and be the best version of themselves.
People often like to know their teacher’s academic background and professional experiences. What and where have you studied? Where have you worked?
I obtained a Bachelor of Education at the NHL Stenden university in the Netherlands. Part of the four-year degree we had a teaching practice every year. The four teaching practices that I did where in Zimbabwe, Luxembourg, The Hague and at WIS which was the highlight of my placements.
Since getting my degree in July 2024, I have been working at Hellenic (my old primary school in Zimbabwe) as a teaching assistant and coaching sport.
What do you do when you aren't teaching?
I like to spend time with friends and family. I like to be active, and I love playing hockey. I also love reading and playing board games. I have a passion for the bush and enjoy having my camera with me to capture the beauty of our continent.
Why did you choose WIS?
I did my 2024 teaching practice at WIS, and I loved my experience. The teachers were so welcoming and felt part of the WIS community from the start. There is such a family feel at WIS! I liked the schools’ values, the curriculum and its ethos made me want to be a part of the school. Windhoek seems to be a great place to live and of course having the vast expanse of Namibia close by ready to explore is a real bonus.
Is there anything else you’d like us to know about you?
Looking forward to meeting you all soon!
