JoMUN Conference 2025

Model United Nations, otherwise known as MUN, is an amazing experience for anyone interested in politics, public speaking, and debating. Our school has been attending JoMUN for the past few years, and we have had many outstanding delegates who have represented countries ranging from fragile states such as Afghanistan to superpowers like the USA. This year, though we did not win any best delegate awards. I did, however, get an honorable mention which is why I wanted to encourage other students to join our MUN Club.

JoMUN is made up of 6 different committees which each discuss 2 separate issues, and as the delegation of the country you get, you must create resolutions to solve the issue from your country’s stance. This can prove to be difficult especially when you do not agree with your country’s current stance, or when you have to draft a resolution for an issue that your country benefits from. In MUN, not only do you have to represent your school honorably, but you have to debate and defend your nation’s stance with other delegates, making it an enjoyable activity for those interested in politics and public speaking. Overall, if this sounds like an activity you would like to participate in, I highly encourage you to try it next year!

Really inspiring to see students engaging in global issues through JOMUN—these kinds of Model UN conferences build confidence, critical thinking, and real-world awareness in such a meaningful way. Golf Hit here, but what stands out is how experiences like this go beyond debate—they shape future leaders by turning ideas into action and collaboration.
