A class we are proud to send into the big wide world

Celebrating our graduating class is always a special moment in the academic year at WIS.
On the 23rd of July, WIS celebrated our Class of 2026 in true style at the Out of Nature Country Lodge. It was an event that inspired with its truthfulness and sincerity. Seeing how our graduating students showed their maturity, compassion and thoughtful demeanour was a testament to the education they received through the IB education at WIS as well as through their community. The different awards we were able to present to our students as well as the High School Diploma each of the 33 graduates earned, were a great compliment to these graduates' teachers, parents and everyone who supported them in their journey to complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. We are keenly awaiting the results that are released on the 6th of July.
A further proud achievement of these students is the destinations they are moving on to for their further studies. We are again proud to send these young people to tertiary institutions across the globe – from Australia, South Africa and Europe to the UK, US and Canada. Being able to obtain a credential that opens doors to tertiary institutions across the world is one of the gold star opportunities the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme offers.
An event where we can celebrate our diversity and inclusivity is a proud moment for us as a school as well as for these young people who have spent 18 months in an extremely rigorous environment – meeting deadlines; writing essays; preparing their Theory of Knowledge essay and exhibition; as well as pursuing opportunities to serve their community and do something active and creative through CAS (Creativity, Activity and Service) – this could have been participating in different sports codes or in the Windhoek Junior City Council or in the Model United Nations Club. Our students also actively participate in afternoon support at Physically Active Youth. It is moot to try to mention all the different achievements these bright young men and women can celebrate together with their academic achievements.
Class of 2026, Windhoek International School is proud to send you into the world – with compassion, kindness and a willingness to make a difference on our planet and in the communities you will serve.
